My name is David Marne and I want to again serve as your Mayor.  I first asked for your vote back in April of 2005.  A lot has changed since then:

David Marne’s accomplishments as Mayor of Shavano Park (2005-2015)

-  Lowered property tax rates six times! 10% lower than the day I took office, and 45% lower than San Antonio.

-  Sales tax revenues increased over 700%, and a long-range fiscal plan was developed

-  Left office with a budget surplus, and $3 million in city reserves

-  Paid off 2004 bond early, saving the City $60,000 in future interest payments

-  Created Street Maintenance fund, allowing the City to save for future and major roadwork

-  Bond rating upgraded from A- to AA+, the highest bond rating attainable by a small municipality

-  Cut Firefighter and EMS response time to three minutes, the envy of every city in Texas

-  Championed a new fire station, which lowered ISO risk rating and homeowner insurance rates

-  Championed smart growth, brought businesses to Shavano Park.

I left office with our city on firm ground and heading in the right direction. 

Unfortunately, the current Mayor continues to institute needless regulations restricting property rights. 

The Current Mayor did NOT open City Hall to residents who lost power and heat during the recent Storms.

I find myself running against two people, one who is actually suing Shavano Park and the other who is causing the city to be sued.
